Payroll accountant (m/f/d)
to support our international payroll team on a part-time basis.
Your tasks:
- Independent support of international medium-sized clients from various industries with locations in Germany
- Preparation of payroll accounting in accordance with German law using the DATEV Lohn & Gehalt and LODAS systems
- Communication with external interfaces such as health insurance companies, employment agencies and tax offices
- Processing of the registration and certification system
- Creating reports for financial accounting
- Assistance with external wage tax audits and social security audits
Your profile:

I. THE TRAINING PATH
- The apprenticeship lasts three years. Under certain conditions, the training can be shortened. No specific previous school education is required. Trainees with a high school diploma, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a degree from a commercial college have good prerequisites. In a three-year apprenticeship, the intermediate examination is taken after one year and the final examination is taken at the end of the three-year apprenticeship before the relevant examination board of the Chamber of Tax Consultants.
- The training takes place in the tax consultant's practice and at the vocational school. The most important subjects taught at vocational school are: Tax theory, bookkeeping, business administration and technical arithmetic.
- In addition, all trainees can take part in additional inter-company training offered by the Cologne Chamber of Tax Consultants in the last year before the final examination, which is intended to supplement the vocational school training.
II. THE TIME AFTER TRAINING
- After completing their training, tax clerks are initially responsible for tax matters, bookkeeping and the annual financial statements of certain clients. If they have worked in the profession for a longer period of time and have qualified, they can also become team leaders or department heads.
- For particularly qualified employees who have worked in the profession for three years after the final examination, the Cologne Chamber of Tax Consultants offers a further training examination and awards successful participants the final qualification "Steuerfachwirtin" (tax specialist). After a further three years, it is then possible to take the tax consultant examination.
- Get comprehensive and individual information. You can obtain information from the Cologne Chamber of Tax Consultants, as well as from your local employment office and tax consultants.
III Our training program
After graduating from high school, you will be trained as an assistant tax advisor, with varied activities in the areas of bookkeeping, preparing annual financial statements, tax returns, practice and work organization as well as communication technology.
We endeavor to offer long-term employment to tax clerks trained by us who have passed their exams with good results.
We promote further career paths for those with special qualifications:
- After successfully passing the exam, you can start training to become a tax assistant
- You can also begin your studies - e.g. business administration at the University of Cologne - or at the University of Applied Sciences in Bergisch Gladbach (FHDW) and continue working for us as a tax assistant on a part-time basis. After graduating from university (with a degree in business administration), you will have the opportunity to work with us as an assistant to the partners in the areas of activity of a service program:
- Audit of annual financial statements in accordance with statutory and voluntary requirements
- Advising entrepreneurs, freelancers and private individuals - primarily medium-sized companies and their shareholders - on complex tax, business management and corporate law issues
Our training team
The training system at KONLUS is well organized. A total of three trainers look after our trainees under the supervision of a partner. The trainers all have many years of experience and additional qualifications as tax consultants, tax specialists and/or accountants. Trainer meetings are held regularly to discuss the development of the trainees, learning content and internal training events.
